Oneplus Nord CE 4 60 Days Personal Experience. Is it really as the tagline says, All Power, All You ??

Review by Team Tech Reprise

INTRODUCTION

Most buyers want their smartphones to have a stylish appearance, good performance and a few unique and standout features. Here's my 60 days personal usage experience of the OnePlus Nord CE 4, which retails for about ₹24,999. Let's see if it's still a wonderful deal even after two months of it's release especially in light of the fact that OnePlus recently released the Nord CE 4 Lite and the Nord 4 is just around the corner. This phone has been my primary device since I bought it from Amazon.in on May 15th 2024, I have since been using it for my day to day tasks and media consumption.

DESIGN

I liked the design very much and it was like love at first sight. I had bought the Celadon marble colour which was their flagship colour. The in-hand feel of the device is very good although the camera array looks a bit mismatched mainly because of the big gap at the bottom. The polycarbonate back panel while its not as premium as glass but still gives an impression of sturdy design and "looks" premium. The included cover also is of pretty good quality and ensures that the user has a tight grip on the phone and doesn't drop it.

The high-definition FHD+ AMOLED screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1100 nits, combined with a responsive touch screen, vivid colors, and clear contrast, provides a top-notch viewing experience. Viewing films, gaming, or surfing the internet was a smooth and uninterrupted activity.

PERFORMANCE

This is where the phone really put others behind itself. I encountered no obstacles in terms of performance while using it thanks to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 powering the Nord CE 4 which is very powerful and makes day to day tasks seamless. The battery lasts a long time and I am surprised with how well it performs giving me nearly two whole days of normal and one day of heavy usage. The 100W SuperVOOC charger is too fast and charges the phone in minutes.
The phone comes with 128/256GB UFS 3.x storage and 8GB of LPDDR4x memory. The phone scores around 8.5 Million in Antutu Benchmark and 1116 Single Core and 2914 Multicore in Geekbench 6 CPU test. The performance of the phone is awesome and Oneplus has well optimised the phone with multiple updates. The phone runs OxygenOS 14 Based on Android 14 out of the box.

CAMERA

The Nord CE 4 comes with a Main 50MP Sony Lytia LYT-600 Camera sensor and a 8MP Ultra-Wide Sony IMX-355 Sensor. This is the first phone to launch with a Lytia sensor in India. The LYT-600 is supposedly a rebranded Sony IMX-882 sensor so the pictures it takes are pretty good and true to life meaning there is no additional colour boosting at play here. It can also shoot videos at 4k 30FPS. I am in no way a pro photographer but I still tried to capture some images with the camera. I have attached some pictures of both low light and well lit pictures. You might need to open the images in a new tab to see the full size image.

CONCLUSION

Currently, the Nord CE 4 is among the top smartphones priced at ₹24,999. The phone performs well, and though the camera had some issues at the beginning, they have been resolved with OTA updates. The high touch response and refresh rate ensure that the display is smooth and the 1100nits peak brightness ensures that even in direct sunlight the display is visible. Also the fact that the battery lasts almost two days when I use it is a big plus.
Based on my 60-day usage, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 offers high-end quality and deluxe performance within an affordable price range. OnePlus has effectively introduced the Nord CE 4 with a balance of cost-effectiveness and high-end features. Based on my experience and weighing the price-performance ratio, this phone deserves a strong 9/10 rating overall, qualifying it for a Tech Reprise Gold badge.
