New Teasers point at AMD 6950XT's 2.5Ghz Boost Clock

With its existing 7nm Navi 21 XTXH GPU, AMD delivered some promising boosts to the clock speeds, allowing higher clock frequencies but also pushing overclocks beyond 3Ghz. Overclockers have already pushed the 6900xt to beyond 3Ghz but it looks like the Navi 21 XTXH is about to be displaced by the more efficient and refreshed variant of the same chip.

If the AMD Radeon RX 6950XT with a few twaeks on the RDNA 2 Refresh GPU can hit reference boosts of over 2.5 GHz, then we can expect AIBs for the same chip will definetely offer even higher clock speeds. The current custom variants are set to around +250 to +300 MHz over the reference model and even if that prevails then we can surely see a 2.9Ghz Boost clock. This would definetely be a  big performance gain in combination with the 18 Gbps memory chips which are runmored to launch with the same. But all of this will come a cost of higher power consumption.

Lets wait and see what AMD has in its pockets this time.
