How to Enable Intel 200S Boost on MSI Z890 Motherboards and Maximize Performance with Memory Partners

Intel 200S Boost is a performance enhancement feature developed for Intel Core Ultra 200S K-series processors paired with Z890 motherboards. When activated, Intel 200S Boost increases the processor’s NGU and D2D frequencies and enables XMP settings to enhance system performance.

Intel 200S Boost Settings

Using the Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 285K as an example, enabling Intel 200S Boost modifies the following settings:

NGU frequency increased to 3.2GHz
D2D frequency increased to 3.2GHz
XMP enabled (up to 8000MT/s)
Voltage limits: CPU SA voltage not exceeding 1.2V; CPU VDD2, DRAM, and VDDQ voltages not exceeding 1.4V

Intel 200S Boost – Reduced Memory Latency, Up to 16% Gaming Performance Boost

With the Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 285K and 8000MT/s 16GBx2 memory, enabling Intel 200S Boost significantly reduces memory latency compared to default settings.

At 1080p resolution, certain games can see a 6-16% performance boost compared to default settings. When paired with MSI Memory Extension Mode for further memory optimization, performance can improve by 7-20%.

How to Enable Intel 200S Boost

Enter MSI Click BIOS X, and from the default EZ Mode page, enable Intel 200S Boost.

Upon activation, a message will notify the user that XMP will be enabled, runtime overclocking (e.g., MSI Center’s CPU performance optimization) will be disabled.

When pressing F10 to save and exit the BIOS, a summary of the Intel 200S Boost settings adjustments will be displayed.
